Sichuan Hongda-NDC - Liganga Iron Ore Mine

The Liganga iron ore is located in the Ludewa district of the Njombe region, 900 kilometers southwest of Dar es Salaam.
The project is one of the biggest iron ore resources identified in the country and is estimated to contain reserves of over 1.2 billion tons. The type of iron ore deposit found at Liganga is known as Vanado-titanium magnetite. Iron ore is a resource for the steel manufacturing industry and other ferrous-based industries.
The project will be the basis for putting up an iron and steel metallurgical complex which in turn will create hundreds of jobs.
