Dhofar Desalination Company - Salalah 3 IWP

The project calls for the development of a desalination plant with the capacity of 25mn imperial gallons per day (113,000 cubic metres/day) in Salalah. The project will help meet the increasing demand for potable water fueled by population growth, burgeoning infrastructure and commercial investment, and a policy decision to shift from groundwater resources to desalinated supplies.

The project will run on electricity supplied by Dhofar Power Company under a long-term power supply agreement. Potable water produced by the new Salalah3 IWP will be supplied to a new reservoir to be constructed and operated by the Directorate General of Water in Dhofar Governorate.
