NOC - Al Shaheen Offshore Field Development Plan - Phase 2 (Gallaf Phase 2) - Wellheads and Connecting Bridge

Al Shaheen field is one of the world's largest oil fields and is located in block 5 offshore northern Qatar.

The field is operated under a production sharing agreement on behalf of Qatar Petroleum. Current production from the field is around 40% of Qatar's crude oil, at around 300,000 barrels per day.

Maersk Oil has been operating the Al Shaheen field for 25 years while being in a production sharing agreement with Qatar Petroleum, which expired on July 2017. By the end of Maersk Oil's production sharing contract with Qatar Petroleum, Total will be taking over the Al Shaheen field operations and possess 30% stake in the project.

Phase 2 includes two new wellhead platforms each weighing at least 1800 tonnes, a connecting bridge and brownfield work on offshore development.
