Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) - Dorra Gas Field Development
Khafji Joint Operations Company (KJO) plans to develop the offshore Dorra gas field in the neutral zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. As part of the plans, they have started exploitation works in the western half of Dorra and part of the Lulu offshore fields. The project is part of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's (KPC) plan to increase gas capacity in order to cut gas imports.
The Dorra field is estimated to contain non-associated gas reserves of at least 60 trillion cubic feet.
The production capacity of the non-associated gas field is expected to reach 800 million cfd. The produced gas will be mainly used for power generation and the production of petrochemicals.
