Ibn Rushd - Yanbu Petrochemicals Complex - Purified Terephthalic Acid Unit Expansion

Arabian Industrial Fibers Company (Ibn Rushd) plans to expand the Yanbu purified terepthalic acid (PTA) plant at its complex in Yanbu Industrial City. The project is part of a wider scheme to boost polyethylene terepthalate (PET) production capacity at the plant. It aims at adding 400,000 tonnes per year (tpy) of PTA to the existing 350,000 tpy unit. The PTA would be used as feedstock for the polyester fibre plant which is undergoing debottlenecking.
