Pertamina - Balongan Refinery Upgrade (RDMP RU 6) - Phases 1 & 2 - Expansion and Upgrade
The Balongan refinery in West Java has been the last major refinery to be constructed in Indonesia since 1994 and state-owned PT Pertamina is determined in expanding the crude processing capacity of the petrochemical complex and building a petrochemical plant to reduce imports of petrochemical products. Pertamina will build the project in three phases. The expansion will be the first phase and is to target a refining capacity of 150,000 b/d by 2022 from 125,000 b/d currently. The second phase will increase the product yield from the refinery, and the third phase will include a new petrochemical plant slated to be completed in 2026.
